Some pictures of the house if you want to see. Not all of them are very good.. and missing a good picture of the master, no pictures of the smaller bedrooms and no picture of the master bath. I will kick Tim when he gets home, but I did abandon him to the home inspection by himself.

And yes... the kitchen wallpaper does have to go.

My Sweet Bear

 Posted by Picasa

Bear was the best friend and companion for 14 years. He died at home on July 4th after the last of his family gave him a loving pat on his head and told him it was ok to go. We could not have asked for better companion.

In the words of a friend.... I am sure he is sitting under a tree somewhere thinking, "Damn, that was a GREAT 14 years"

Honeymoon and other comments....

Tim and I had a wonderful honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. There are quite a few pictures I have published below... So many that you have to go into the archive to see them all.

We made it back late Thursday night.... spent Friday doing the necessary stuff after you get married: I went to the social security office and the probate judges office to get the official documents with Causey tacked on the end of my name, We visited the bank to establish a checking account we could both get in to... that sort of thing. I still need to visit my other bank to change my name on that account and call my credit card company... and we will need to make the required changes at work.

Thank you to everyone who helped pull off our wedding. Aunt Marilyn for letting us have it at the beautiful beach house and all the other many thoughtful things you did, Jim and Crystal for being our photographers and all the other stuff you did, Aunt Nancy and Aunt Joyce for the things you did to help us prepare, Matt for doing all the stuff he got talked into doing and for helping cart stuff home, Kat for all you did, helping cart stuff home, and for the extra help with Michael while we were off honeymooning, Adam for playing the music and Mother for too many things to even list. I know there were other people who contributed to our wedding that I am missing... but you can be assured that we appreciate all that you did as well.

Scenic Outlook

There were quite a few scenic outlooks that we stopped at on the way back down the mountain towards Gatlinburg.

Trail off Clingman's

This was a long trail ( I think over 5 miles one way) In some of the pictures you can see Clingman's Dome Trail in the distance.

Clingman's Dome

These pictures were taken from the base of the trail and the observation deck for Clingman's Dome, the highest point in Tennessee and the 3rd highest in North Carolina (the stateline divides the peak). This was the shortest trail but the most difficult hike. It is only .6 of a mile (probably another .2 from the car) but it gains something like 400 feet in elevation. It is about 15 degrees cooler at the top than it is at the bottom, a fact that delighted me after climbing the trail.

You will notice quite a few dead Spruce Fir trees. These tree were killed by the Balsm Woolly Aphid which was introduced from England in the late 1800s. The Woolly Aphid eventually made its way from New England to the Smoky Mountains killing about 95% of the mature Fir trees in the park.

Again, I took panoramic shots but have not compiled them yet.
